|
Birmingham Historical Museum "Birmingham's Architectural Legacy" is a new exhibit that will be opening on October 28th and runs through January 27, 2007. The exhibition will focus on the Community Planning that has taken place since the 1920's that has shaped and defined Birmingham as told through large scale photographs and models. In addition, a related exhibition on architect JP Morgan will feature an original model of a jet designed by Morgan. Morgan's many and varied interests will be featured in the exhibition.
Step back in time to the Roaring Twenties when you visit the recently installed 1920 Kitchen at the Birmingham Historical Museum & Park's Allen House. The kitchen is now open complete with vintage GE monitor top refrigerator, "Preference" stove and work table. The 1920's transformation is complete with the added vintage small appliances, cookware and other period touches. Come compare your kitchen with that of the historic Allen and Hunter Houses.
In addition to these exciting exhibits, clowns will be in attendance here for some face painting fun!

First Night Birmingham Celebration is a sort of homecoming for comedy
magician Doug Scheer. he's a 1983 graduate of Birmingham Groves High
School and attended Birmingham schools since Kindergarten. Now
living in Commerce Twp with his wife, Heidi (Mrs. Michigan International
2006) and 3 kids: Carson, 7, Gannon 5, Ella 2, Scheer spent 14 years
touring the North American Continent honing his brand of magic and comedy
at private resorts, trade shows and corporate events. He is the
owner of "Scheer" Genius Productions, Michigan's largest
educational school assembly company. He performs at over 400 events
yearly and providing liveb educational shows to elementary schools
throughout the state.

Wendy Rollin is the recipient of two ASCAP special awards for children's music. She is Music Directorx of the Echo Park School. She has perfomed at The Ark in Ann Arbor, Bowling Green State University, Macomb Community College, all around town, and beyond. Her three CDs are favorites in homes and classrooms everywhere.
